SUMMARY:Fundamentals of Authentic Relating - Assumptions and Curiosity
DESCRIPTION:What is Authentic Relating?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAuthentic Relating is a practice – and a set of tools – that fosters deeper connection with others. It invites us to show up with presence\, awareness\, and skillful honesty in every aspect of life (romantic\, friends\, family\, work etc). It overlaps with other relational practices like Non Violent Communication and Circling. \nPeople practicing Authentic Relating\, even for the first time\, usually report: \n\nGreater self awareness and emotional clarity\nDeeper sense of connection to self and to others\nClearer communication and more fluency in navigating conversations\, including situations of conflicts and repairs\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho is this workshop for?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnyone curious about personal growth\, wanting more ease and connection in their interactions\, interested in improving their relational skills\, or wishing to gain a formal understanding of AR frameworks and mechanics. \nNo prior knowledge of Authentic Relating is required. You just need to: \n\nHave an interest in having fulfilling relationships with others\, working on your emotional intelligence\, or learning how to communicate more effectively\nCome with an open and playful mind and the understanding that this is a space to experiment together with ways of relating that may be out of the usual (i.e. expect playfulness and quirkiness)\n\nNo need to commit and come to all Fundamentals of Authentic Relating series as sessions are independent from each other. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore about what to expect…\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFundamentals of Authentic Relating (AR) is a workshop series (3rd Saturday of each month between February and June 2026) to learn and practice Authentic Relating. It’s for people who want to bring more awareness\, honesty\, and connection into their relationships. Sessions are themed and we’ll begin by exploring how to notice what is happening inside (Feb)\, followed by listening more deeply (Mar)\, developing curiosity (Apr)\, expressing oneself with clarity and courage (May)\, and navigating boundaries and conflict with care (June). \nIn April we explore assumptions and curiosity \nAs human beings we are assumption making machines. \nWhilst they are crucial to help us make sense of a complex world whilst preserving our time and energy\, unchecked assumptions can get in the way of relationships as our minds tend to jump to conclusions\, fill in the blanks\, and assume we know what someone means. \nThis workshop is an invitation to discover what becomes possible when we stop relating to our story of someone and start relating to the actual person in front of us by using one of the most powerful relational tools we have\, our own curiosity. When we use it well\, conversations become richer\, misunderstandings dissolve\, and bonds deepen. \nThrough playful\, insightful and connecting exercises\, we will experiment with how it feels to replace “I know” by “I wonder” and: \n\nBring more awareness to how much we assume and what it feels like when people assume things about ourselves\nLearn how to notice our assumptions and check them out skillfully\nBuild our curiosity muscle\nBe interested to make conversations more interesting\nFind the topics that are of interest to everyone involved\nLearn to ask questions that invite depth\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Fundamentals of Authentic Relating Series\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring this five part series\, we’ll explore a different theme each month. Even if connected\, each workshop is a stand alone experience\, so come for one\, come for some\, or come for all! \n\nNoticing: mindful presence\, awareness\, acceptance (21st February)\nListening and responding: listening to understand not fix\, reflect back\, share impacts (21st March)\nCuriosity and assumptions: beginner mindset\, checking out assumptions (18th April)\nSelf expression: owning our experience\, sharing with vulnerability (16th May)\nContact with others: boundaries\, conflicts\, and repairs (20th June)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow much are the tickets?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re committed to accessibility and offer a payment scale for this event. Please choose the price that feels fair given your life circumstances and financial situation whilst honouring the time\, training\, and energy that go into creating this space: \n$30: Discount\n$45: Regular\n$60: Pay-it-forward \nMysore Melbourne Annual and Full Term members are entitled to a 10% discount on all workshops and events. \nPlease contact us if money is a real barrier to attending and we will find a solution together.. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n
